Special Care
For special needs children, The Get Well Place is a cost-effective alternative to home health care. Our professional nursing staff is available to children with chronic medical conditions who need nursing support. Children admitted to this program may be regularly enrolled in the school or enrolled in the Get Well Place if nursing supervision warrants.
Is my child eligible for admission into this program?
Children may be admitted for prescribed pediatric nursing care with the following conditions:
Short-Term Care
- Apnea and Bradycardia Monitoring
- Post-Surgical Convalescence
- Accident Recuperation
- Burns
- Early Hospital Discharge
- IV Therapy and Medications
- Oxygen Therapy
- Failure to Thrive
- Medication Monitoring
- Exacerbations of Cystic Fibrosis
- Other Physician Recommended Conditions
Long-Term Care
- Chronic Lung Disease (BPD)
- Cardiovascular Abnormalities
- Orthopedic Conditions
- Seizure Disorders
- Spina Bifida
- Cleft Lip/Palate
- Colostomies
- Tracheostomies
- Enterostomies
- Cerebral Palsy
- Metabolic Disorders
- Other Physician Recommended Conditions
What will it cost?
Care for children who require additional skilled nursing services will be charged on an individual basis based on the extent of professional nursing care your child requires. The actual cost will be determined before admission. These charges will be in addition to the usual tuition and fees for Rainbow Station or the Get Well Place.
