Learning About Fun and Freedom
The Village at Rainbow Station is completely unique — and cool! At The Village, our teachers offer your school-age child, up to age 14, stimulating recreational activities with complete flexibility and freedom to choose what interests him or her most that day — every day. Your child can go to The Village Green to hang out and play a board game, The Café for a snack, The Village Theatre to work on his or her own production, or The Library to study or for homework help from one of our teachers. It's a complete village within The Village!
Your child gets the benefits of relaxing and having fun with friends in a protected, age-appropriate environment while parents finish the work day. Parents get the benefits of increased workplace productivity and decreased risks associated with school-age children who may be unsupervised at home — not to mention the peace of mind knowing your child is safe at Rainbow Station.
Just for your 5th (includes 6th to 7th graders) grader, The Village also offers Club 5 — our exclusive program you can't join until you're in 5th grade. Club 5 is so successful, your child will look forward to his or her turn! At this age, children don't normally want to be in an organized after-school program, but at Rainbow Station, they want to stay one more (maybe more) year! This is an exciting opportunity for your child, and a real benefit to parents.
Summer Camp at The Village
In addition to our after-school program, The Village also offers your child a full-time summer recreation program with mini-courses on a variety of subjects to boost existing subjects or learn new ones, weekly field trips to both fun and educational destinations, regularly scheduled extracurricular activities, and a blow-out end-of-summer picnic. Our teachers in The Village focus on your whole child — mind, heart, and body — to help your child reach his or her full potential in a safe environment that encourages responsibility, and gives your child the freedom to make his or her own choices.
Every day, the Village at Rainbow Station offers your child a choice of activities, including:
- The Village Green for town meetings and free play
- The Library for quiet study and reading
- The Arcade for games
- The Café for cooking projects and snacks
- The Art Gallery for arts and crafts
- The Construction Site for building things
- The Computer Lab for research, learning, and fun
- The Gymnasium for indoor sports
- The Apothecary Shop for science projects
- The Village Theater for dramatic play
- Outdoor play with friends
The Village also offers your child:
- Structured homework time and tutoring
- Transportation to and from school
- Extracurricular activities (such as music, dance, karate, and swimming) on a fee-for-service basis
