Early childhood education
Rainbow Station’s® early childhood programs include nursery
school, preschool and private kindergarten for children from birth up to age
five. Rainbow Station offers a proprietary curriculum called PLAYWORKS©,
which is based on state standards of learning. We take a comprehensive and
developmental approach to early childhood education and provide each child with
the foundation for future educational success.
School-age recreation programs
Through The Village at Rainbow Station, we
offer a creative curriculum geared specifically towards the needs of
older children. We know that, developmentally, school-age children are more
content in their own space away from the young children, so the Village is
housed in a separate building on our campus. Rainbow Station offers programs
both after-school and summer programs.
Emergency backup
The Get Well Place®, an infirmary for mildly ill children, is
unique to Rainbow Station and to the communities it serves. The Get Well Place
is one of only approximately 300 emergency backup facilities in the United
States.
Programs for children with learning challenges
Using a team approach, experts from the community, parents,
and Rainbow Station teachers and nurses work together to maximize each child's
learning potential through individualized educational interventions.
Care for children with chronic or special health needs
Currently, children with medical needs represent
approximately ten percent of the enrolled student population. Depending on their
medical condition and the required level of nursing supervision, we admit
children with special needs directly to the classroom or to the Get Well Place.
