Preschool Assistant Director
Hello! My name is Crystal Walter. I am the oldest of five children, born and raised in sunny Southern California. I have lived on the west coast and the east coast, but my husband and I decided to settle somewhere in the middle. I graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a B.S. degree in Child and Adolescent Development. I took some time away from full-time childcare work to stay home with my two daughters, Kaylynn (5) and Mackenzie (21 months). Now that I am back, I couldn’t be more excited to be working at Rainbow Station. I joined the Rainbow Station Team in 2015 as the Infant Lead Teacher, and was promoted to the Assistant Director role in 2016. I love working with the team and families here at Rainbow Station, and enjoy being on the leadership team.
I am a Texas transplant of 40+ years. I have been happily married now for more than 28 years and a mother to one son named Dylan. My professional background spans 30+ years of experience working with preschool and school aged children, with 11 of those years in the public school system teaching all levels, including special needs students.
My Rainbow Station career began 2009 as a summer substitute for 5 years prior to becoming the Village Curriculum Coordinator in 2012. After 2 ½ years in the Village I then had the privilege of becoming the Village Mayor.
I am passionate about children and our program! I look forward to watching the growth of your children during their grade school careers!
To show love and extend grace to all the children I have the privilege of working with and to teach them to do the same for others!
I have been a Registered Nurse since January 2012. Prior to returning to school for nursing, I worked as a teacher in a preschool for four and a half years before staying home to raise my family. I volunteer at my church in the children’s education department and work with adults with Alzheimer’s dementia. I have two sons: Stefan, who has joined the Marines, and Liam, who attends the Leander ISD. I am married and enjoy water sports with my husband, Dan, and my family. I grew up in Northwest Austin and my parents and brothers live in the Austin area.
Hello, my name is Kat. I have had the pleasure of teaching in preschools as well as being a nurse since 1994. I moved to Austin several years ago from the Dallas area and I love it! I am happily married and have two amazing daughters. My hobbies are reading, listening to music, and volunteering at both my church and AHG.
“My mission is to help children feel better when they are sick or have boo-boos. I want to partner with parents to keep kids healthy and with staff to promote a healthy learning environment. To live, laugh, love.”
Hello, my name is Jennifer Wheatley. I have been working with children for over 18 years now. I have 3 children of my own and I look forward to working with you and your family. I love working with children and couldn’t imagine doing anything else! In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my family and friends. I am excited about getting to know each and every one of you!
